A good look doesn’t always have to take forever to put together. Outfit and make up for today’s look only took me ten minutes and a little bit of forethought while showering! This is a perfect day look for going to class or work.

The key for a good outfit is to have good, basic items that go together for a full outfit that flatter your figure, Now I have a very thin figure already, but my main concern is to hide a bit of a belly (since I’m so small, any belly on me is noticeable), and my small chest makes me more bottom heavy so I have to balance it out. To help with this problem I have a lovely bulky faux-leather jacket by BDG from Urban Outfitters. A thing to look for in a jacket is something that balances out the bottom half of your outfit, as this does.

This is a great jacket because as you can see in this above picture, it cinches my waistline nicely and keeps my belly under control, and it bulks up my top half to balance out my rather bulky comfortable jeans (by True Religion). The jacket also goes with just about every single dress I own.
The make up look was also very simple—I spent 5 minutes to apply foundation and powder with appropriate primer and things to make sure my make up will last all day–in fact, these photos are taken after about 6 hours.

I primed my eye with Too Face Shadow Insurance to ensure that my eyeliner won’t transfer to crease, applied a skin-tone eyeshadow and a teal eyeliner (review on this later—it’s the L’Oreal gel liner), and swept on a bit of MAC Blushbaby blush, and I was done with a bit of lip balm. An easy, natural look, with a bit of interest in the color-liner that’s still subtle and work-appropriate.

One note on these quick 5 minute looks is that you should probably fill in your eyebrows–I am blessed with incredibly full and dark eyebrows so I don’t always have to fill them in when I’m doing a light look like this, but this is not always true for everyone.
What do you think? What are your really quick get ready in 5 minute tricks?
